This is what a fringe festival is all about a new work in a small venue with a mix of ancient and new lighting . 

Talented dancers and beautiful choreography . It rarely gets better than this!

Everyb0dy’s g0t a B0mb - Adelaide Fringe 2026

Riley Fitzgerald's seminal work pops up in Adelaide as part of the Adelaide Fringe at Star Theatre as well as Hopgood Theatre. It's a 50 minute  update of a work he developed when he was a dancer for Sydney Dance Company under their "New Breed" initiative.

Six years on the piece has matured while still seeming fresh and new;  deeply personal and strangely universal exploring themes of personal and worldwide chaos juxtaposed with hope and mutual support.

The work is visceral and confronting, you may want to cry at the end or seek a hug from the person sitting next to you. It is wonderful and rare  when a piece speaks to the audience like this.

The eight dancers inhabit various characters and scenarios through the 50 minutes that seems much longer in that we are taken on a full emotional journey through many types of emotions . Star theatre was an unusual location for a work so avant- guarde but it was oddly comforting to be sitting in ancient cinema chairs while watching a show that was so dynamic and alive.

I strongly recommend this work as in spite of being deeply confronting in some parts it installs in the viewer the sentiment  that you are not alone and that some of the feelings of horror and hopelessness we feel can become more bearable when we know we share those feelings. I found this deeply comforting in the wheelie bin fire of current world events!

A show you really do not want to miss and which also heads to Edinburgh fringe later this year !
